I'm baaaaack

The blog is back. I accidentally killed it when I tried to post a powerpoint slide show to the main page. The html had a heart attack and the bypass surgery just didn't pull her through. The service is at five...

Anyhow, it's been a busy time since the conference Vegas. It was weird and wonderful. I found myself wandering around this 1,000,000 watt strip looking at the gigantic, ornate hotels and casinos. Amazing. Did the roller coaster at New York New York. Ate the best (and most expensive) pretzel of my life. And made some terrifc friends at the conference. Things are looking up.

Went to Longview after that and learned that I only have about 3 more months in braces. Woohoo! Then, I'm into a permanent (invisible) retainer and extra big smiles. Can't wait.

The weekend after that, we went camping, did nothing, and it was everything I hoped it could be (thank you Office Space). I'm trying to learn how to be a slacker, a la Office Space, because it looks like slakcers are the ones who get the raises. But I just can't lower myself to that level of utter sloth. Guess I'll just have to settle for camping more often and not having a cell phone! Being hard to reach is not the same as being lazy. It just makes getting away for a while that much easier...I highly recommend it. Ditch your phone and take a hike.

All of my friends are getting married. It's supposed to be a surprise, so I can't list them all and shhh to those of you who know about them already.

Working on the thesis now. I took a hiatus after Vegas and I finally feel rested. That semester of SMU and FEMA really took it out of me. Can you believe the New Orleans electric company tried to charge us a $100 for November, a month in which the electricity didn't even work and we didn't enev live there, and they were not very amiable or willing to hear our "excuses" as to why we wouldn't pay. But, we took care of business baby, in a big way. Anyhow, between snobs and slobs (disorganized FEMA), it was not a fun semester.

But, things are getting back to normal (kind of ). Thanks for the cards and phone calls.

Happy belated Easter and Passover.

Love ya,
Dani P

Woohoo! Stick around awhile this time, won't you? Glad you got some time away. Life is best when we live it slowly enough to actually enjoy it. Easier said than done though. Come play in Fort Worth soon!
